Nightmares Come True...

The Worst Thing Happened the Other Day...

It was a nightmare beyond a nightmare; something a teenager cringes at the thought of, so horrible that I was lost for an entire 24 hours of my life. This terrible heinous disaster... was my internet going down. D:

Honestly I thought I was going to lose my mind, I couldn’t check facebook and I was waiting for a message saying if I was going to the mall or not...

tried to blog about my predicament... well that couldn't be done.

tried to close, and restart my computer... to no avail.

I even started crying and yelling at this thing... (ok maybe I was thinking about this last one and didn’t actually do it... but still I was pretty close.)

And all because I couldn’t get online, now I really see how dependant I am on the world’s web. It really makes me think, I see people all the time glued to their iPods, cell phones, and computers walking and conducting business on the run. Have we as people become so dependant on technology that something as small as the internet going down for a day throws off our entire schedule?

Just some food for thought tonight....

Just Like in the Movies...

I Laughed So Hard I Cried....

Today was a pretty decent day, had a couple exams feeling confident about them, but that is definitely not what I decided to blog about today. I swear today was just like a movie, you know when two people are having a conversation but each thinks the other is talking about something completely different?

The funniest thing ever happened after school on a visit to Wal-Mart’s McDonalds. My mom had just purchased some antifreeze for her car and it was sitting in the cart next to the table. We found out that McDonalds now has smoothies so my mom decided to try one, she placed the smoothie right next to the cart on the table.

So yes my mom is sipping away at her smoothie, chilling and we're, ( my mom, sister and I) are all just talking away when this lady comes up to us and starts a conversation that went as such;

Lady: That's what I should have gotten!
Mom: yeah I know, (my mom then turns to me and asks what the lady was talking about because she was unsure)
Me: (whispered) she's talking about the smoothie!
Mom: Oh yeah, I didn’t know they had it here, it's my first time trying it, its actually surprisingly really good!
Lady: (Looks at us very strangely and nods) Yeaaahhhh....
Mom: (Smiling like a weirdo.)
Lady: so yeah... enjoy, I guess.
Mom: Wait, what are you talking about?
Lady: Antifreeze...
Mom: Oh my I’m talking about a smoothie!

So yes it was one of those moments where it was so ironic and coincidental that you couldn’t help but laugh until you cried. Oh my, that truly made my day!

So since I have a math exam tomorrow I decided to make a formula for the day:

Antifreeze + Smoothies = Win.

*Sigh*

Things are Looking Up,

it has officially dawned on me that this semester is coming to a close. Im really happy about that, but there's a part of me that's going to miss the old semester. I know, it's kinda silly of me, but whatever. Today was my chemistry exam, the last chem exam I will EVER have to take, which is awesome because I really do dislike chemistry and math. (Wednesdays my last time for math EVER!) I'm going to miss Geography and History, two subjects I have come to love and adore, and both with amazingly brilliant teachers which hopefully I will get next year when they teach the twelve course.

On another note, (the irony in this statement!) I am going to see another musical! Went and saw Wicked November, it was absolutely amazing, very well done and fantastical as it is. My best amie and I went to see it and it was great we had front row seats and I know its ridiculous but i got so into the story I was in tears. This time however in May, i'm going to see the classic on stage production of the Lion King. XD I am so hyped, it better be worth it for an entire two weeks pay..... :S Thank goodness I have a job. I am excited to see it, became a fan of the group on facebook and the pics and videos are amazing. Only time will tell. :)

Lastly to wrap up this very epic/random post, I herby declare I am a Facebook addict. I promised myself when I got facebook at the beginning of the semester I wouldn't get addicted....too late. It is just too tempting to see how everyone is doing, what's going on, keeping up with my games, and of course creeping people to the max, (because I am that cool :P) It's not even a good addiction, I go on facebook when im bored, tired, lazy, and the worst when your bored of facebook, logging off, then back on to see if anything has changed... Yeah. So, thats pretty much it for the end of exam day one.

next up, History and Geography exam tomorrow :D

Procrastination

The Title Says it All....

It is the best time of the year for high school students in ontario.... NOT!! It's exam time once again, change of semester from first to the glorious second, (I dont know about you but I deffinitely find second semester to always be the best.) stress eating, cramming, and doritos become your best friend, and procrastination causes deadly side effects.
I am going to confess, I am a major procrastinator, I tend to sit for five hours "studying" only to have spent half, (if not more) of the time on facebook, or online. In fact this entire post is an excuse for me to not study.... But, i dont want this entire post to go completely to waste, so I have decided to compile a list of things for myself, (or anyone writting an exam) that will help them/me succeed.
Seven Test Taking Tips
1. Relax, Breathe, and get some sleep! (a good nights rest = clearer head= better thinking= better marks!)
2. Eat Something that doesnt fall into the Chips food group, i know its tempting, but trust me a little water and some fruit goes a long way.
3. Revise until you feel confident. (dont over do it, dont cram, and really, really study!)
4. Take time to yourself, do something non- study related. (if you focus so much on studying chances are you will forget someting. Dont linger over it too much.)
5. DONT rely on caffeine, its just like gravity, with every up, theres going to be a down, its inevitable.
6. think positive! What's the worst that could happen? You dont get the mark you want, don't worry its not the end of the world.
7. If you're me... TAKE YOUR OWN ADVICE!
